Does any of the aera series display streets in aviation mode?

Hello,

I live in a big city (Toronto, Ontario), where the air traffic controller frequently instructs pilots to switch frequencies over Eglinton Avenue. This is fine, since I know the city, but I would be in trouble if I didn't.

Will any model of the aera series display streets and street names in aviation mode?

Thanks,

Gabor

Nope. Usually I just tell the controller that I am new to the area and are unfamiliar with the point he has told me about. From there, its like being held by the hand and given a guided tour through the control zone.

But, alas, no street names in GPS mode.

Yes, you can show roads and road names in aviation mode

The Aera can show roads in Aviation Mode. Follow these steps
    1. Go to the moving map page and press Menu
    2. Select "Set Up Map"
    3. Press on the Map Setup Category (should say General but it could be something different
    4. Select "Road" (you will probably have to scroll down to find the option)
    5. Select "Road Name" (Default is set to off)
    6. You can now set the font size of the roads on the bottom left and the zoom scale that will show roads on the bottom right.
    7. When finished. Press back repeatedly until back to the moving map.

You may have to adjust the zoom scale to see Local Roads, Local Highways, Highways also.
