Is it possible to restore or manually add deleted Garmin Index S2 weigh-ins with all body composition data?

Hello,

I accidentally deleted several weigh-in entries from my Garmin Index S2 scale history in Garmin Connect. As a result, I lost 4 entries and now my weight history is incomplete.

I thought I could fix this by exporting weigh-in data from other dates to a CSV file, manually adding the missing entries (I still roughly remember the values), and then importing the modified file back into Garmin Connect using the data import feature.

Unfortunately, the import failed and I received an error message saying that there was a problem importing the file.

My question is: is there any way to restore or manually add deleted historical weigh-in entries, including all body composition metrics such as:

  • Weight
  • Body fat percentage
  • Skeletal muscle mass
  • Bone mass
  • Body water percentage

I would like to fill in these missing historical records to keep my long-term data complete.

Has anyone successfully done this, or is there an official Garmin-supported way to add these measurements retrospectively?

Thank you.

  • You can import the weight and body fat % using a CSV file, at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/import-data, but this file format does not accept the remaining data (muscle / bone / water).

This is a sample CSV file:

    Body
    Date,Weight,BMI,Fat
    "2022-11-03","71.6","22.6","14.4"

There can be multiple lines of data, but the first 2 header lines appear just once. Use a plain-text editor such as Notepad for creating the file. Do not use any rich-text editors like Word or Wordpad. And avoid Excel. The import accepts only one data set by day.

  • Thank you for the information.

I understand that only weight and body fat percentage can be imported via CSV, and that skeletal muscle mass, bone mass and body water are not supported.

Is there any hidden or unsupported method to manually add full Index S2 measurements?

    Thank you.
