Bad heart rate recorded - how to remove it

The Garmin HRM Dual that came with my Edge 1050 bundle is apparently on its way out. The sensor "pod" connects, but HR data is usually not sent at all or is way too low.

I wore the strap nonetheless on two recent activities since I assume the problem is the strap itself, not the "pod", and I had hoped that the strap would work better once it just got sweaty enough ;-)

Well, it didn't.

Now Garmin coach is apparently giving what I think is incorrect workout suggestions due to the partially missing, partially too low HR data (instead of a recovery day after a hard ride yesterday, it today apparently wants to kill me with a sprint session Rofl). It also considers my training intensity "low".

Is there a simple way to remove or "declare invalid" on kind of recorded data so that it starts using the other data available for its estimates and recommendation? I have correct power meter data and ride duration and average speed clearly indicate that this was not an easy stroll through the park.
