I find that when using Garmin Connect, that it is highly frustrating to add "Course Points" to a Course and not worth bothering with.
Basically, when you are looking at the Course zoomed in, you find somewhere to add a "Course Point", then when you click on the "Add Course Point", the map zooms out, you then have to zoom back in again and find that location where you wanted to add the "Course Point" again.
Then when you have added your "Course Point", you give it a "Name", then click on "Type of Coarse Point", but then the name you have given the "Course Point" is overwritten by the Type of Coarse Points name, so basically you have to do it in reverse order, and then naming a Course point, you can only use so many letters and on a lot of "Course Points", it is not enough
Then when you have added the "course point" and click on "Done", to add another "Course Point" you have to go through the whole procedure again and when you have a lot of "Course Points". you have to scroll to the bottom of the list to be able to click on "Add a Course Point" as it was out of view, it needs to be visible at all times at the top, not the bottom.
How do I add course pointst, well, I can do it very simply using the old "Garmin Mapsource".
I simply import my GPX into "Mapsource", zoom in to the track, scroll along it, find where I want a Course point or "Waypoint" as they are called in Mapsource, click at the top on the "Waypoint" icon, insert the "Waypoint" on the track, name it etc with as many letters as I want, not just 15 letters as in "Connect and that is all done in a few seconds.
Then the best bit, I can scroll along the track looking for other "Waypoint Locations and no having to zoom in again or clicking on the "Waypoint" icon as it remains in that mode and absolutely no need to be zooming in and out and clicking on "Add a Coursepoint" and "Done" for everyone you add as in "Connect. And when I am done, I can simply send the Track to my Garmin Edge or back into Garmin Connect where all the "Coarse Points will Show. I hate to hazard at a guess how many"clicks" and mouse movements it takes to just add one "Course Point" in Garmin Connect as opposed to "Mapsource" wherby just doing a test, apart from naming them, it took 4 clicks to add 2 "Waypoints".
Basically, this needs sorting, the technology exists to add "Course Points" simply and Garmin Mapsource was out probably nearly 20 years ago and doing it simply, Garmin Connect is a big step backwards in technology. In fact, Overall Garmin Mapsource for creating Courses is still far superior as everything is so simple than creating Courses in Garmin Connect.
