I have a Nuvi 765T, it is the second recondition model I have received, and Garmin didn't pay return shipping, it will crash and restart about 4 times a day. I have the latest software updates on it. This morning it restarted while I was just playing with it in from the PC. Garmin says it may be corrupt MP3, but why should the player crash the unit, also I was not playing MP3 this morning. Something is not right with this model unless I have received two defective units. I am getting to the point of just returning it. The unit cost too much money to have this kind of problems right out of the box.
yes i have the same gps and i get the same problems. Also in Recently Found how can i clear all of the address in there, my gps is full and i cannot use it because it has no memory. I tried pressing clear all but it does not clear anything, please help.
Garmin Nuvi 765T, take it back and choose another.
To end the saga of my Nuvi 765T. The last day the power cord began to short out and would not continue to charge the unit. After less than one month I have had so many software problems so when the unit began to fail mechanically. The 765T has a very expensive $30 power cable, even if it is in warranty , Garmin will change $10 shipping and handling for the exchange. Also you will have to ship your old cord back first before they will send the replace cord. This what they did with my Nuvi exchange.
Garmin told me I must sent the old unit back first and wait 7 to 10 days for a replacement. This was not acceptable I had to pay $216, which included $10 nonrefundable shipping, to have them ship a replacement unit.
The replacement unit had the same issues as the first it would restart when ever it wanted to. Also Garmin has problems with their maps they are blocked out here is an example address :

This area is all covered up and not visible to the user. The resolution to this problem was to return the unit and purchase a Magellan.
I purchase the Magellan 1440, while it does not do all the "cool" things the Nuvi did it does do the things it does better. POI searches are fast and actually usable compared to the Nuvi hanging up after type 3 letters.. The the rerouting and type of routing is actually easy to use and straight forward.
The Magellan is a straight forward unit, accurate and dependable. Going through the word day without restarting at the critical time you need information.
What good is Garmin with all the bells and whistles if the unit is not dependable, covered up maps and poor quality cable and connections.
I thought I was buying a great unit with the Nuvi 765T but it is full of problems and needs lots of work from the software issues to cable connections, if one month of vibrations from a 14 passenger van wore it out it would not be cost feasible to have the unit.
What good is this product if it does not do the basics of navigation. All those bells and whistles are useless if the you cannot navigate.
I rate this unit poorly, how can Garmin put such a poor unit on the market.
