Unwanted "sync your device" pop-up

Every time I log on to Connect to sync my Forerunner 245 I have to dismiss a pop-up inviting me to, er, sync my device and offering to show me how. I know how to sync so I have to keep dismissing the pop-up. Okay, it's only one extra click but it's still a nuisance. Is there a way of stopping it from appearing? Accessing Connect on Windows 11, Firefox browser. Thanks in advance!

Yes. Sync your device before login to connect web.

Thank you for replying, but that's the problem -- I login to Connect to sync the watch and look at the stats from my run. Is there a way to sync without logging in? But really what I'd like is to go to Connect and have it sync automatically, as it used to without having to dismiss an extraneous pop-up.

You can't sync the watch in connect Web. This only works with the Express software on your computer or with the connect app on your phone.

Or via Wi-Fi on supported models.

Use one of these methods before logging in to the website, and the pop-up won't appear.

Your device periodically syncs data with the Garmin Connect app automatically. You can also manually sync your data at any time.

I have Express on the computer, so the device is already synced when I login to Connect. To view my workout that's just been synced, I have to dismiss the popup which is inviting me to sync the device. I've synced the watch in Express without going to Connect and I'll see if the popup appears again after my next run.

IMHO, no.

When you log in, the pop-up window indicates that the sync state — and thus the metrics — are out of date. In GC Mobile, the pop-up window closes automatically as soon as sync begins.

However, I’m not sure if this is also possible with web browsers, since a server cannot directly close a pop-up window in a web browser once it has been opened by a client-side script. The server and the client (the web browser) operate in separate contexts, and the server has no way to directly control or interact with the client’s user interface.

One way to avoid the unnecessary pop-up window could be to change the order of the login process so that a sync attempt is made first, and the pop-up window is only displayed if nothing is available for sync. However, this also requires a new request to the server.

These are just my thoughts on the matter, and because I don't work in this field I’m not sure if this is entirely correct.
