Garmin heart rate monitor in the Gym

Hi.
Does anyone know whether I would be able to use the Garmin heart rate monitor from 110 in the gym with Technogym machines?
I can't seem to find any info about this on the internet; does anyone know? has anyone actually tried this out to see what happens?

(If this is documented somewhere else and I haven't found it, then sorry)

I'm not sure but we have some techno machines in our gym and they only work with polar heart rate straps. :-(

On the plus side the Garmin strap (old not new one!) does seem to work better in the gym around technical equipment.
