I recently updated my Oregon 400T to software version 3.80 and now I’m having problems with my it.
My wife has a Dakota 20 so we compare one against the other. We were out geocaching yesterday and these are the problems I had.
1. The elevation is off about 360 feet from the Dakota. We live in central Arkansas and where it should read in the low 300’s but the Oregon was reading 676 feet and the Dakota was reading 315 feet which is in my opinion close to the true elevation.
2. I cannot share wirelessly with the Dakota any longer. I’ve tried to send geocaches to the Dakota with no luck and vise versa. The Dakota tries to send geocaches with no luck. I can go into the GPX folder after I plug it into my PC and see the GC code sent from the Dakota but I can’t view it on the Oregon when I go to geocaching.
3. The last problem that I have noticed is that it seems to have a hard time getting a strong signal now and many times it will be up to 50 feet different then the Dakota when we are trying to find a geocache.
Am I alone on this or is there a fix that I need to install. I have had many fun trips with my Oregon and I own 5 Garmin units so I’m not trying to hate on Garmin or the Oregon. I would just like to get these problems fixed. Please help me salve this issue.
I have some screen captures that I am adding to show what I am seeing. I was holding the Oregon in my right hand and the Dakota in my left at the same time when I took them.
