Cannot find each other / broken connection after being friends

Hi,

I have an issue on Garmin Connect where a specific user and I suddenly disappeared from each other and cannot reconnect. We were previously friends without any problems.

  • We no longer appear in each other’s search
  • We cannot send friend requests
  • A direct profile link opens but shows no data (no profile picture or connection info)
  • From a third account, both profiles are visible and working normally
  • Neither of us has the other blocked

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it?

Thanks!

  • I would check whether one of you did not accidentally add the other one to the list of muted or blocked users. Find the lists at https://connect.garmin.com/app/settings/privacySettings

  • We’ve already checked, but the blocked and muted users lists are empty

  • We no longer appear in each other’s search

Did you try to search both by the alias, and by the email address? If the search by email does not work, and the nickname search returns too many false positives, change the nickname to something unique, and then try again. You may need to wait (perhaps a few minutes, perhaps even a day) that the database is reindexed.

The Connections feature was recently redesigned. The feature is now called Friends, and has three tabs: Followers, Following, and Suggested. Do not use the search on those tabs, rather use the Search on the right side ( https://connect.garmin.com/app/friends/search )

How do the privacy settings look on both accounts?

  • Yes we tried that. It’s weird that we were already connected, but she disappeared from my contacts without any action. If I try to search for her from another account, it works without any problem. It looks like some kind of bug.

  • To me it still looks like you landed on her muted or blocked users list. Perhaps she just does not want to tell you she banned you Rofl. Or she banned you and created a new account (perhaps both of it accidentally), so when she checks the ban lists now, they are empty, since it is a different account.

Well, if you do not find the reason, reach out to the Support. Please let us know what they tell you.

  • I see you have already reached out to our support team via email. Please continue to work with them to resolve this situation.

  • This issue in Garmin Connect usually happens due to sync errors, privacy settings, or temporary server/app glitches, not because the friendship is actually removed.

    Common Reasons

    • Temporary Garmin server or app bug
    • One user’s privacy settings blocking visibility
    • Outdated app version causing sync issues
    • Account sync delay between mobile app and web
  • All of your posts are AI-generated and often end up being off-topic and not very helpful.

  • I’m facing the same problem. If you get an answer from Garmin, please post it here. Thank you

  • If you are having trouble with a connection/follower we are not able to look into other followers/connections due to privacy reasons. I'd double check your own privacy settings and if you have a different way to contact the person you are trying to follow, have them check their privacy settings as well.
