Connect does not Identify my Oregon 550.

Hello,
I have a Oregon 55 and have been uploading my tracks to Connect. Ignoring the fact I get no HRM data when it reads the connect.gpx file, connect does not identify my Oregon in the lower left hand portion of the web page.

Any Ideas?
  • GPSMap not recognized

I am having the same issue. I have a GPSMap and when I upload files to Connect they have an unknown device. This means Connect enables elevation corrections automatically. You can't modify the device for each activity, nor is there an account preference for a default device to use if the file being uploaded doesn't list it. Motionbased knew which device I had. There should also be an option to turn elevation correction on or off for all activities with one click, either in account preferences or on the activity list quick edit screen.

Any news about this issue? I have the same problem with a Garmin Oregon 550t. Garmin Connect doesn't show the device name after the latest update of the side. But it's showing the heartrate now :)

    Thanks,

    Oliver

I have a GPSMAP device and in Connect, it identifies it as Device: Unknown, 4.0.0.0

I liked it better when I was using Motionbased. It identified my GPS unit and stored weather reports.

New update is available to solve the problem.
I love both 60CSx and 550t. This is just my input. Good luck with your device.

this just happened to me and i tried everything even called garmin they ran through all the standard items i.e move to a new usb , try a different cord , reset, ect one thing they did tell me to try was a hard reset which included holding your thumb in the upper left while turning the unit on. this did not help. the unit used to, when plugged in, just show a computer tower, but now was just turning on and showing a plug icon as if it where plugged in to power. SO WHAT FINALLY WORKED??? i held my freaking thumb in the upper left corner of the touch screen and pugged it in .. Instead of going into to charge mode it connected. I immediately went to update the software of the unit, but it was up to date so i reinstalled the software on the unit and now it seems to be working fine???? if it acts up again i will repeat the plugging it in with the thumb in the upper left portion of the touch screen

I have downloaded Coinnect applocation on my Windows Desktop, but when I try to sync it does not recognize my Oregon 550T. Garmin does not respond my emails where I ask for help, does not respond my chat messages, and would not return calls. I have paid $600 for the unit, how can I make it work?
