Garmin app not syncing with web

I have already followed all the instructions in here  Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing

My Forerunner 245 will sync with my Garmin connect App on my phone.

It shows live data such as HR.

I have followed  Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing and completely removed the device from my phone, app and web.

I've added the device back to the app, it syncs with the web but the web, web shen shows the device and says the device was last synced 2 weeks ago.

I presume graphs on the connect app are fed by web, so the data is synced from watch to app, app to web, web then feeds the data back to the app for creation of the graphs and that is why I'm not seeing any body battery or sleep data.

  • So it looks like it is only the data in Monitor that is failing to sync.

  • You can delete the monitoring files that you already imported. That happens when they are synced normally anyway. So if one of them was corrupted, it may perhaps unblock the syncing. And if there is not much free space on the storage, you can delete some old activities (they remain in Connect anyway).

  • I've cleared everything out of Monitor, it been going for about 2 hours and a sync hasn't pushed anything to the graphs. There looks like there is a new file created every time I hit sync, I guess that's because it would normaly sync the file, delete it and create a new one to store data from that sync point.

In Garmin connect web, under devices the watch is showing up as having synced, but this was at the time of the dummy activity I logged, syncs after that wohich would have been monitor data have not registered as a sync.

  • Yes, normally when you initiate the sync (or when it happens automatically), the monitoring files are synced to the server, and deleted from the watch (unlike activities that remain preserved). Now, I do not know if I understood well, but it looks like the recent monitoring files were not deleted after the sync, or were they? What did the Sync Audit tell about the syncing of the new monitoring files? (the previous audits did not report any transfer of monitoring files)

I may be wrong but to me it still could be a problem of the association of the watch to multiple accounts - the symptoms are typical for that case - activities sync to the right account, and health data vanishes. I know you wrote you already followed the tips in the troubleshooting guide, but I suggest repeating the instructions from the hint #4 very carefully and meticulously again. It won't recover lost data, but it might perhaps help restoring the watch-account association.
