Help with unregistering an old device

I gave my old Edge 305 to a friend (I have had a 705 for a couple years now), but he can't upload to Garmin Connect because it says the device is registered to my Garmin Connect acct. How do I "unregister" it, so he can use it with his account. I have searched throughout the settings for Garmin Connect, but can't find a reference anywhere.....

Go to https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customers/myUnits.htm. Click on your device, then select "delete registration." If that doesn't do it, then you'll need to call Garmin Support.

Then I guess you'll have to go to plan b - call Garmin Support. Not as painful as it sounds. ;)

Except I don't know any of the data about the 305, the serial number etc.....seems crazy that Garmin would hard code a device. It kills the aftermarket for people like me who choose to upgrade (in my case I gave the 305 away, but others might need to sell theirs). It's also weird because I NEVER used the 305 with Garmin Connect, it didn't even exist when I used it (I used MB back then...)

They might not need the serial number.
