No history saved in 310XT

I've been trying to send a course from Garmin Connect to my Forerunner 310XT device.

I'm using ANT Agent 2.2.9 under Windows, and it claims that the data was succesfully sent.

However I can not see the course in neither the "Courses" (Mode -> Training -> Courses) or the "History" (Mode -> History -> Activities) section - the 310XT just says "No history saved".

How do I send a course to the device?
  • Is Garmin Connect telling you the data was sent? GC sends the data to the ANT Agent for onward transfer to the 310XT. Once that transfer has occured - device needs to be paired, turned on or connected to the charging clip - you should see a message in the ANT Agent telling you that the last transfer was successful.

The course should then show up under Courses.

Note that I have not used GC to send courses to the 310. The only time I have sent a course was from Garmin Training Centre.

Both transfers appears to be successful. As said: considering the response, everything seems to be successful, but I just cant access it in the history of 310XT.

Can I persuade you to try it yourself (i.e. to transfer a course from GC to 310XT) ? Just to have a benchmark trackpoint :)
  • You won't see the course in history, just in Courses on your watch.

In GC Click Send to Device
Once GC finds your device, click Send Course
The course will then send to your watch from the AntAgent
When complete, you will see your course by going to Training, then Courses.

I guess you didn't read my first post?

Anyway, when trying this evening, the problems were gone. I don't know what the problem was yesterday. I guess the moon were in a bad position, or something like that :S

    @everyone
In general, it occurs to me, that Garmin software is quite sensitive. The other day, I wasn't able to upload a GPX file to Garmin Connect. It later showed that the timestamps were not present in the file, but nevertheless Garmin Connect responded with a green checkmark together with the notice "some activities could not be transfered". When checking the activities nothing had been transfered at all.

Would be nice, if the Garmin devices could respond with an error code or similar instead of simply answering the annoying and ever-happy "Data transferred successfully", when something is clearly NOT successful.

Having a quick glance at the forum also support the claim, that too many bugs exists in these products. I just can't understand that. Neither heart-rate monitors, GPS receivers, small-size computers nor wireless data transfer devices are near to "cutting-edge" technology - I don't understand how it can give so much trouble...

Yes, I did read your first post. However, it seemed from your post that you weren't clear where courses should be, since you were also looking in history and even put it in the title of the thread.

Great! Glad it's working for you now.
