Garmin Connect cannot upload file

Both Mac and PC versions of Garmin Training Centre can cope with the following tcx files. Patently the elevation recording is total nonsense, yet the file uploaded to the standalone systems

However the same files fail to upload to Garmin Connect.

Can anyone "fix" these tcx files (or even better, fix Garmin Connect so it works the best way as the standalone versions). Oh and explain why the elevation is nonsense. Especially since the data is recorded with the Edge 500, which has a barometric altimeter.

I suspect it's the crazy altitude values that's causing the upload to fail. No idea why your Edge 500 is generating these values.
  • I'll try to manually correct these. I think the problem was a bug in the garmin that allows me to start recording without it having acquired satellites. However the altitude should be correct as it's sourced internally.

My biggest anger with this is that both the PC and MAC version of Garmin Training Centre happily upload this data and can export it to GPX format, yet Garmin Connect won't cope.

    so there's 2 bugs

    1) Firmware bug where starting the timer before acquiring satellites gives dodgy results
    2) Garmin Connect works differently uploading data from Garmin Training Centre.
