60CS Zoom In/Out Buttons Only Work Whem Warm

I've got a weird one here folks.

I carry my 60CS in my work computer bag, ever ready for my next Waymark, bike ride or paddle.

For the past year or so I have noticed the map zoom in/out buttons have been intermittently working. I didn’t link it to heat until this week. I had the 60 sitting on my sunny dash board, acquiring satellites as I drove the 30 minutes home. Once I got home I picked up the unit, by now warm to the touch and the buttons on the map zoom were working perfectly. 30 minutes before, at room temp they didn’t.

What do you think? My 60CS is 5-6 years old. Will Garmin pull it apart and check the contacts for me?

Not sure about Your particular model, but I have had the very same type problems
with other electronics before...

more times than not it ends up being a bad solder joint,which may or may not be able to be repaired.

probably not much help...
