Oregon 550: miss street name and map details

I meet the same problem.

I bought a new 550T from Amazon. I regiested it in my.garmin.com and the web site informed me to update my software.

I can not see any street label in my map view.

How to overcome it?

I have the same problem with my new Oregon 550t. I have the same firmware and software as you, and I have the same graphics image problems. I have City Navigator on a micro SD card (4 Gb), and I cannot see details of the maps, regardless of which maps (topo or City Navigator) I have enabled/disabled. I have been communicating with Garmin, and I sent them a number of screen captures. But, I have not received any advice as of yet. In one email, Garmin did mention that they have yet to figure out the problem and currently do not know how to solve the image issues.

Later today, I am going to change firmware to an earlier version and see how that works.

Hi - that is correct. Also, I could not see the elevation numbers in the topo map. And, when in the automotive profile, I could sometimes disable City Navigator and suddenly the street names would appear, when they were not there when City Navitagtor was enabled.

I just went to the Garmin website and replaced 3.3 with the 3.26 (beta). I have yet to check it out well, but it now seems to be working better (from a room in my house - I will go out on the road later today). I can see road names close to my hourse and topo contours with elevation numbers.

I still think there is a memory problem in which the unit gets confused about which map it is reading, and the information sent to the screen seems confused. Even in 3.26, I am not seeing POIs. But again, I will ck this out later today.

Hello everyone. Just to be clear, you do see street detail and all of the mapping still shows. The only thing missing is the name of the street or labels on POI's, etc..., is this correct?

DAKOTA 20 PROBLEMS
1. it wont show geocaches on 1/50 maps any more
2, when navigating on roads in a car it tells you to go round roundabouts the wrong way now
3, compass seems to go all over the place now
4, when your tracking your movements its not right it just moves in a strait line instead of moving where you have been.
5, maps seem to load slower in the new update than the older one

Thank you for the follow-up. This is a known issue and a fix is being tested as we speak. My expectation is that we will see an update released soon to correct this issue.

missing street names

I went make to 3.1 then all OK. Waiting for new 3.3 so can use birdseye

when new update to 3.3 no labels

anyone been told of when the bug to 3.3 will be fixed?

oregon 450 update to 3.3 now wont show streets

Is there a way i can go back and reinstall 3.26 beta to my garmin 450 it seems the new version 3.3 has messed up my unit now it wont read my topo card right , wont show strees on my base map and also no contour lines on my topos

I have the same issue too with my oregon 550t, just purchased 2 weeks ago and with upgraded firmware......suddenly I cannot view topo details and streets in the maps (this was working fine a few days ago)...I also installed recently birdseye.....the map color looks different and the detail is minimal....any suggestions at this point?

lost detail in maps

I actually have the version 3.7 firmware on my oregon 550t....
I have noticed too I cannot view the maps well, details and contour lines are lost.....is there something I could do in the interim?
someone suggested to get an older firmware version......
