Fit File Corrupt?

I have seen many posts about fit file corruption. I seem to be experiencing the same.

I swam yesterday and I can not get the acticvity to sync to Garmin Connect. I reset phone, reset watch, disconnected all of them, reconnected everything, offloaded the app and reinstalled it, connected watch to PC, and still nothing.

I tried uploading the file to fitfileviewer.com and it seems that everything is fine.

I am able to download the fit file and works fine importing in Training Peaks and Strava but not Garmin Connect.

Thank you so much! That worked perfectly! Any idea what was corrupted and how to avoid in the future? This is the first time it has ever happened after many many years.

I appreciate you jumping in. I saw you had answered a ton of these fit file corruption posts and was hoping you would swoop in to save the day!

If you keep fixing the files for everyone then it will never be fixed. At least also tell them to report it to Garmin customer support

Honestly, Fit File Repair Tool didn’t report any errors. I simply ran your file through it. The software quietly rewrites and cleans up the FIT structure, even if the tool doesn't report any errors.

After verifying that everything has synced, remove the files in the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on the device’s file system using these directions: Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device
Regularly check for firmware updates. Looks like you're already on 25.11
If this is just one corrupt activity after many years, you probably don’t need to do anything yet. But if it becomes persistent, you should contact Garmin Support
