Lifetime Activity Count Incorrect

The Lifetime Total activity count is inaccurate compared to the Garmin CSV export. Has anyone found a way to fix this? Customer support told me they cannot correct it even though the counts are clearly wrong.

  • Do you mean the lifetime total in your profile in Garmin Connect web, or on the watch? And which CSV report are you referring to? The Activities list at https://connect.garmin.com/app/activities ? Which count is lower? If the CSV count is lower, then be aware that the CSV from that page contains only activities that are loaded on the screen, not the total history. You would have to scroll through the entire list to the very bottom, to get the full content. And if you have a few years of history, it may be quite long to load it all. If you really need the full list, it may be easier to request the full data dump at https://www.garmin.com/en-US/account/datamanagement/exportdata

How does it compare with the Progress Summary report at https://connect.garmin.com/app/progress-summary ? You can group that report by year, month, or even by week, in order to find out the period causing the discrepancy.

  • Hi, thank you for the info.

Lifetime total count shows 2139 activities.

The CSV (yes scrolled to bottom of course), shows 2149 activities.

Progress summary report shows 2149 (also thank you for the link)

  • Hm, I can't really help, but perhaps the lifetime total excluded some activities, based on some criteria. I.e. excluding zero length activities, or a certain type of activity, some 3rd party imported activities, or who knows what. I am afraid it won't be easy to find out. In my case both the lifetime total on the profile, and the progress summary report show identical value 6180, so it does not look like it is a general issue concerning everyone. However, seing the discrepancy is less than 0.5%, I would not bother about it too much.

  • I do like having all the numbers match up as I want to make sure it's synced between Strava and my own platform. I did however, find some discrepancies. Some activities were duplicated or showed incorrect times. Using your method I was able to do a comparison breakdown to get it all fixed up. Thanks for the assist.

They should add a "?", "Inaccurate Counts?". And that should goto help page to say that this number wont match your report totals if there are duplicate activities or activities reporting no duration.
