Garmin Connect will not allow me to create segments at the moment

Garmin Connect will not allow me to create segments at the moment, when I click on the arrows the screen just turns white. Tried on multiple browsers and get the same issue on all?

    I raised a ticket for this issue on January 28. I never got a response, 

    It's important to me as I am not renewing my Strava sub and I want a way to be able to compare runs on the same route (the only feature I find useful on Strava that I will miss)   The only way I can see to get this on Garmin is to create a segment of the whole activity.

    Same issue.  Garmin doesn't seem to care about this.

    I can confirm this behaviour. I'll also report it to Garmin Support to see if that will help them prioritize a fix.

    Is it possible the Garmin does not solve such an important thing????!!!!

    I contacted support again via chat to get a status update.

    seilogramp: Unable to create and edit segments in Garmin Connect. I already opened a ticket on this around the end of January but have not heard anything back. Just want to verify that my case is still open and the engineers are actively working towards a resolution.

    Garmin Support: Okay yes it looks like this is still being investigated by our app team! Yes we can send an email once we have an update!

    Garmin support responded to my ticket from January 28 and I went through the process of videoing the issue and giving the info they needed, I also sent them a link to this thread.  Hopefully their system allows them to relate all these tickets so they can see it is a systematic issue that needs to have its Priority raised.  I recommend everyone raise a ticket so they get the picture that it's a wide reaching issue.

    Why did Garmin make such a low-level mistake? Too foolish, it seems they don't care about this issue, because they believe that strava can replace this function. And their app not support edit/create segment too.

    I'm sure it has something to do with the dispute Garmin had with Strava some time ago.

    It’s pretty amazing. Happens in every browser on PC AND Mac. 
    That’s a pretty impressive fail.

    I was able to create a segment today. Tested in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox with no issues.

    • Open a running activity
    • Navigate to the segments tab
    • Click on "Create Segment"
    • Enter Segment Type and Surface Type
    • Modify the "Segment Start/End" by moving the slider or using the arrows
    • Segment saved successfully
