So one of my runs that I did failed to upload from my watch to Garmin Connect. I initially tried to upload the file manually to Connect on my computer but it failed with "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." I then read on a thread here that I could use tools to repair corrupt files. I have grown to suspect it is corrupt as while the distance reads correctly I cannot view the map on my watch and when inspecting it with "GOTOES.org" it says that "No GPS is selected" and does not have any data for the start or end time of the activity. I attempted to rectify this by manually inputting timestamps with the "Add Timestamps to GPS" tool (conveniently the activity start time is in the title of the file, and I can see the length on my watch). However, when attempting to do this, I get a "record table missing" error and when continuing, the timestamps have not been added. I am able to successfully add timestamps and change the activity start and end time of other activities (e.g an uncorrupted yoga file recorded later that same day).
I was wondering if anyone would be able to get the file to a state where I would be able to upload it to Connect? (I'm not bothered about GPS, I think that might not actually be in the file somehow as it is has a very low number of KBs compared to other GPS recording activities, which does seem strange as the distance was recording fine and accurately during the activity - I know because I know the length of the loop I run). However I would like an activity with the right distance (hopefully heart rate too) on my Connect for my records.
Many thanks,
A Garmin user :)
(I have uploaded the file in question, albeit as zip as it won't allow me to upload a fit for some reason)2026-02-01-09-56-01.zip
