New Garmin Connect layout does not show elevation, etc

The new "look" comes up blank for the elevation, cadence, and heart rate windows. What gives? Macbook running Snow Leopard and Safari.

I just found the posts about Google Chrome -- clear the cache. This worked for Safari as well. But why do I need to do this?
