Share function not working

Share and Embed buttons not working after changing privacy settings

I set my privacy to 'not public' and then noticed that the 'share' button and 'embed' button were both disabled.

I did not expect that the 'not public' setting would prevent me from sharing activities I choose to.

Regardless, I undid the privacy change to try to restore the 'share' button. I tried in IE8 in "Compatability mode" and in Firefox 3.6.8, no luck with either.

Any ideas on how to restore the 'share' button?

I'm having this same problem. I've always had my settings as 'Public' but the Share button is greyed out all the time. Any advice?

I can't tell from your screen shot. But make sure the little lock icon next to the ride title is unlocked (see the attached screen shot).

my icon is definitely unlocked. I even tried to lock it an then unlock it to make sure.

Share function not working for me either!

I'm having this problem too, but not consistently... any ideas what might be causing the lack of response to clicking share? All the other buttons work e.g. embed, export etc.

Work Around

I was unable to share using the Share icon. However, if you copy the link in the address bar (http://connect.garmin.com/activity/######), you can paste that into an email. As long as the activity is marked "Public", it should work (it did for me.

Is it a hassle...yes, but at least you are able to share the activities until it works via the button.

(Note: the share button did not work on either Safari or FireFox)

I got the "share" function to work correctly in IE8 by turning on Compatibillity View under IE8 Tools

Is the privacy setting for your activity Public? When I toggle the padlock icon on an activity, it also toggles the Share and Embed icons between Active and Greyed Out.
