Elevation Corrections Help

With the March 31st release, I'm super psyched to see the addition of Elevation Corrections on Garmin Connect. However, when I go to view an activity, and then click "Enabled", the screen refreshes, but comes back with all the same data, and Elevation Corrections is set to "Disabled" again. Is there some trick to it? Will it only work on new activities going forward?

If it matters, I have a Forerunner 405, firmware 2.50.0.0

I have the same watch. I was initially able to change from disabled to enabled but then couldn't do it anymore. Today's run was defaulted at enabled but all previous runs were set on disabled. I am hoping that future runs will be defaulted at enabled.
  • Not that this helps, but same thing is happening for me, however, this is for a run I just uploaded. I've also not been able to apply the corrections for previous runs. Really happy to see this feature making a comeback, hopefully it's actually up and running correctly soon. Now where's that weather...;)
  • Same here, using a Forerunner 305...

Other interesting note -- most of my activities have device listed as a 205.
  • No elevation correction or Charts, Explore problems

The much awaited "update" is here

Same here with a 310xt, the page shows elevation disabled, when I enable it the screen refreshes, but it again says disabled. This was done on a run from last week.

Runs I was unable to upload because the site was offline, have not uploaded yet to see if new activities get elevation corrected. I suppose I shall have to wait until new new-activities are present on my watch to force an upload?

All of the Charts on my activity are also showing blank, where as the "old player" runs its fast replay as normal, so the data is present. Anyone else getting this or it a browser problem? ? Safari 4.0.5 Mac OS 10.6.2

The explore activities now defaults to Minnesota for me.
On selecting Camden N London, I can see a few runs, and the interface has been improved so i can move over a run and see its basic details, however after I select its details I can not see how to get back to my previous search map view, ("previous" gives the person I am looking at's previous activity, not the previous page.)
I have to zoom in along way to my street and search "current map view" to see my activities on the map. If I enter my postcode (defines only part my street,) the search area is wider my activities are not show. I suspect only the first few digits of the postcode are being used for the search.
Subsequently selecting activities again or selecting back on the browser goes back to Minnesota! ( I suppose its closer than San Francisco!)

I'm hoping to do the Chicago Marathon this year, do a search for it, in search! Don't be put off that non are activities are shown for it. ( hint zoom in on millennium park then search and select page3 !)

The announcement section on my dashboard only show information about an update to the ANT agent. There are also no new details in the Help section nor FAQ. Where are details about the recent "upgrade"? What is supposed to have been added? What does and doesn't work there is no help in announcements on the forum either!

    Have fun, Steve

Seems to be working now. But the charts on the detail page aren't working.
  • Sweet, elevation finally works for me too. I don't have a problem with the charts though. Using FF 3.6.2/ IE8 on a Windows7 64-bit system and FF 3.0/Safari 4.0.5 on a Mac. What browser/OS are you having problems with?
  • Okay, I'm having this problem too. It has only happened the last few runs I've uploaded (it worked fine before that - my runs would always default to corrections enabled). But now my newly uploaded runs are defaulting to Elevation Corrections Disabled, and when I click Enabled, it reloads but still displays as Disabled. ARGH! Interestingly, I have been able to get it to work on an old version of IE on my Windows machine at work. Go figure. But at home, where I am using Mac OSX, and either Firefox or Safari (I've tried both), I can't get the Elevation Corrections to work. Would reeeeeeeally like to see this fixed! :)
  • Hmmm, well, I was able to get it to work. Maybe, after you upload a device file, it just needs a little time before elevation corrections can be used? Strange... Earlier today I couldn't get my last run to switch to elevation corrections. But just now, I was successful. Odd... but I'm glad it finally worked! :)

I have activated the elevation correction tool for all my runs back to Jan 6th so far, and I am pleased with results. It defaults to correction for all new runs. I have a Forerunner 405, firmware 2.50.0.0
  • Elevation correction stopped working

    Hi,

It was working for me for the last few weeks and my Forerunner 205. I was even able to go back and correct old runs. Yesterday, however, it stopped all of a sudden, and today's run defaulted to "disabled." When I click "enable" for elevation correction, it doesn't fix it. Did something happen yesterday or today to cause elevation correction to break? I'm on Mac OS X, Safari or Firefox.
