Zumo 660 handsfree echo?

Former Member
Former Member
I've got a Zumo 660, and it's a superb GPS. The only big issue I have with it is that the handsfree function on it (when using in the car) has so much echo (for the person on the other end) in it that it's just about unusable. This isn't a problem on the bike as I have a headset in my helmet.

Does anyone else encounter this? Is there a way around it?

I have similar problem; not as much as an echo, but people on the other end of the line tell me that they can't hear me or that I sound like I'm in a hole. The Zumo is on the dash about two feet in front of my mouth.

I've read on the Zumo Forums that others are having the same problem. This is very frustrating and causes me to just disable the bluetooth all together.

    Any ideas?

It seems to me that this board is pretty much useless.

Since this is a Garmin produced message board, you would expect to have some kind of tech experts here answering questions about consumer related products for it's customers. Judging from the number of posts here and the vast amount with zero replies, this appears to just not be the case. Either that, or their "experts" are just not familiar enough with their product to give any sort of reply.

Thanks a lot, Garmin. You may as well just toss this board.
