New Activity Request: FOOTBALL!!

Hi
How do I ask for a new activity, and icon. FOOTBALL
The game with the round ball played by 99% of European men :)
Can we add this please???

A nice little football icon would look great. Certainly more active participants in the world than Snowboarding!

  • do the rules allow for playing with a big chunk of plastic and glass on your wrist?

Of those 99% who play football, how many use a Garmin device during the game?

I would guess that he is talking about recreational Soccer playing, and individuals having a Garmin Sports device would be using them for this.

I'm playing floorball, and I would like to have the sport 'Floorball' added by example :-)
  • I suspect most of us would like to be able to customise Other to read a different sport too.

Very few I would expect, but the referees do.

I am amazed this request have not been implemented for 5 years!

I just recently purchased my first Garmin watch, a Forerunner 920. It is a wonderful device, and now I use it to track all my exercise. I am not huge on football/soccer, but many friends of mine are, so many Fridays, I join them to play, and I track my pulse and active time, using the 920. It is okay that the 920 does not have a program for football, that is not what it is meant for. But, I find it amazing that when I go to Garmin Connect, football is not a choice in the activity list. I mean: In the list, there are activities like hanggliding, sailing and "snowscooter driving"!!!!!!

Ball sports are high intensity sports that are good for execising, and tracking them with a pulse meter is of the highest interest for triathletes that include ball sports in their training. It is good to get statistics of how much time is spent and in which pulse zone for each sport, so please, Garmin: Add football and other ball sports to the list.
  • +1 from my side!!!

I mainly play soccer and during training i wear my garmin under a wrist sweatband. of course I am not allowed to wear the watch during an official game.
  • ++1

++1 from my side - now with the anouncement of the HRM-Tri strap which can store data while swimming and forward it to the watch (in my case Fenix3) afterwards.

This should work while football playing (or other team sports) too. HRM-Tri strap on during the match and the watch stays in the dressing room running - and after the match the HR-Data syncs with the watch...

so it worked with Suunto Ambit 3 sports ;-)

    Football/Soccer

+1 from me too. You could generalize it to "field sports". I'm a referee for Lacrosse and us a Forerunner 220 to track my distance, HR, speed, etc.. in games

  • I use mine to play squash, as I want to measure my calorie burn for MyFitnessPal.

The more sports the better, IMO.
