Upload keeps on hanging

Can you upload into Garmin Training Centre on your computer? If you can, chances are the problem is not related to the activity data.

Hi, I never tried using Garmin Training Centre. Is it better? What is the difference between that and the one found on Garmin Connect?

Garmin Training Centre is run on your PC, whereas Garmin Connect is web based. Using GCT enable you to 'see' that you data has been successfully uploaded from your device. It also gives you a local store of your activity data.

If the files are on your PC but have not been uploaded to Garmin Connect, then you can start troubleshooting connection issues to Garmin Connect. If they have not been uploaded from your device, then the problem will likely lie with your USB connection.

Also check that you have the latest version of Garmin Communicator.

I have everything updated, Garmin Communicator and all.

I tried uploading to Garmin Training centre and there is no problems. Following which I tried to open Firefox and upload to Garmin Connect, the upload process would hang.

I would have to kill the job via Task Manager and repeat the steps to get the upload into Garmin Connect.

There's obviously something wrong with either the web interface, or my Garmin watch. How do I diagnose which is the problem?

I am also experiencing the same problem as the original poster. I have a Forerunner 305.

I have uploaded dozens of activities in the past to Garmin Connect, but recently it no longer works and will freeze Firefox and I will have to kill the process.

Uploading to GTC works, but I'd rather upload straight to Garmin Connect if it would work.

I also have the Forerunner 305 and uploads to Garmin Connect are hanging. They used to work just fine. Uploads to training center are still working. I've tried both IE and Chrome.

I did notice that the mac seems to have an issues if you save too many activities. I'm wondering if they same is true for PC. I guess I'll try wiping everything in memory and see if it fixes the problem.

OK, so that makes 3 of us.

I still get the upload problem these days. Thing is, I just have to kill the process for my browser (doesn't matter if I use Firefox or Internet Explorer) and restart the upload and it would work again.

I don't even unplug the USB cable to the watch (so I know it's not the cable problem).

Or do I have to contact support to fix this issue?
