Rino Antenna

I couldn't find the correct place to place this thread, but I hope this will work.

I am looking for an external car antenna to hook up to my Rino, so i can get a few more watts or at least a stronger signal. Does anyone out there know where to buy one from? I've checked the Garmin website and could not find anything. I have also Googled it.

Many thanks.

It's kind of illegal. Technically you can have more power and put on a big antenna with the GMRS band (you also should have the federal license about 80 bucks) but since the radio has the FRS band you can't do it legally because that band is more regulated. That is why your radio has a fixed antenna on it, so you can't change it. The best thing you can do is place your radio on the dash in a perfectly vertical position and use a boom mike headset. Holding the radio with the antenna vertical is literally ten times more powerful than tilting it 45 degrees.
