Web map - stop returning to home location

When browsing hikes in Garmin Connect Web (map view), selecting a hike opens its detail/preview as expected. However, when I exit the hike (using Back or Exit), the WebMap automatically recenters to my home/current location instead of remaining on the previously viewed map area.

This makes it difficult to browse and compare multiple hikes in the same region, as the map must be manually panned and zoomed back to the original area after every selection. Shift-clicking or opening in a new tab partially avoids this, but that is not a practical or intended workflow for map exploration.

Expected behavior:
After exiting a hike preview, the WebMap should remain centered on the last viewed location and preserve zoom level, allowing users to easily sample multiple hikes within the same area.

Actual behavior:
Map always snaps back to home/current location after exiting a hike. If I disable location in my browser, it goes to Kansas City... clearly something that isn't desired at all.
