255W can't find "St" cities

I had a Nuvi 255W for about a year, and recently tried to map a trip to St. Louis, MO. When I start to type, I get as far as "St Lo" and St Lo, FRA immediately pops up. I have tried every variation (period, no period, etc.) The only way I can get "St" cities (Augustine, Louis, Ignace, etc) is to type in the name without a space, (Stlouis), then backup and insert a space between the t and l. It then finds all of the St Louis. I had the software current, and the map is about 6 months old. Support couldn't figure it out, so they replaced it. I got the new one, and right out of the box, same thing. I just updated the map and software, same thing. I tried a Nuvi 755W, no problems. I had someone familiar with Nuvi try mine. Same problem. I live in NE lower Michigan.

I will be calling support again tomorrow, but I am not expecting much at this point.

Any suggestions? Please!!!

Well, after continuing to mess with the thing, I found some more info. As mentioned, when trying to find a "St" city such as St Louis, it will jump to St Lo, FRA after typing "ST L". I need to hit spell again, and continue with "ouis" and it will find all St Louis's. Same thing with St Augustine. It jumps to St Aubins, QLD after "St Au". I need to hit spell and continue.

Any ideas on what's going on?

Woohoo.

I just talked to tech support, and he had the same problem. Apparently it is a software glitch in the latest update.
