am trying to create a planned walking track in the mountains, some of this walk is on marked tracks or pathways, some of the walk is across country and we will need to navigate a course. I have planned and drawn the intended route in "Garmin Base Camp" and the map I am using is "Topo Australia V2", using the tool menu bar at the top and selecting "Track"...this gives you a pencil like pointer that you use to plot your path along the route...this creates a custom "Track Route" in the Base Camp Library.
WHAT I want to do is transfer that data, my custom "Track Route" onto the Nuvi 500, like you can do for a Driving Custom Route..I have followed the same procedure for transferring a custom driving route, and it says that it has been transferred...I can see it do this...the little green line appears under "Device" in the Library,(when connected) and you watch the progress of the transfer. BUT on the GPS I am only getting the Waypoints, not my "Track" that I have drawn...IT IS NOT THERE....I go to Folder "My Data" and the option to "Import Route From File' is not there....SO HOW DO I GET TO SEE THE CUSTOM WALKING TRACK that I want to use to navigate along, on the GPS, over my map....just like I do for Custom Driving Routes.??????
