"trim" uploaded data based on time

Hi,

Can I add a request to be able to trim activity session data once it is uploaded to Garmin connect (ie delete data before or after a selected time).

I use a an Oregon 300 and my problem is as follows:

I get on my bike and reset my trip computer. It's then a few minutes before I get going. When I finish I will turn the unit off but it might be an hour before I upload it to my computer. As soon as I turn the unit back on it records another point and my 1 hour cycle trip shows as 2 hours. This drastically affects the averages.

Functionality to remove data before or after a given point would also make it very easy to analyse a set of data after excluding warm up and cool down periods.

It would be really great if this functionality could be included in the "playback" section so that you can easily decide where to cut you data based on time, map location or heart rate etc.

Thanks
Neil

Agree - please implement this request

Being able to trim down a particular activity is very important for me and doing via the graph would be terrific. The PowerAgent software for my powertap and Training Peaks both support this type of manual segmentation.

While speaking of graph features, being able to mark a section of the graph to get a set of average statistics would be very helpful. On any given ride there are some high end sections that it would be good to mark and get avg power, speed, hr, etc.. Again these features are very popular in PowerAgnent and Training Peaks.

Would love for them to also exist within the Garmin software suite.

I'd also like to see something like this. specifically, I'd like to be able to extract hills from my rides. ideally, if I could select just the hill from the graphical display and then copy that to a new activity, which could then export to gpx, that would be perfect.

I'd also love to be able to trim an activity. Often I'll mess up recording the beginning or ending of an activity, and it throws off the average pace data. Also, a lot of times the heart rate data is bad (double or triple what it should be), due to wind, I assume, and I'd like to trim those parts out.

As pointed out in another thread, this would be useful for keeping a little privacy as well, as one could trim out the beginning and endpoints.

    +1

I sometimes forget to stop my activity timer when I finish my ride. It would be very helpful to be able to trim this "garbage" off the activity.
