Oregon, Dakota and Heart Rate Data

Currently if you upload directly to Garmin Connect from the Oregon, Dakota or Colorado using connector (v2.91) the HRM data (and probably cadence sensor data) gets stripped off and is not visible in GC. If you upload current.gpx manually it is preserved.

When will the direct upload of HRM and cadence sensor data be supported by GC?

HR and cadence are store in Oregon ? I don't beleive... Just shown but not store in GPX only in GPI ?

I am looking for if I am right about this because i've oregon 550 and GSC10
  • It's stored in the GPX file. :
    gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension></extensions></trkpt><trkpt lat="63.366812" lon="10.366225"><ele>103.00</ele><time>2010-04-12T04:04:15Z</time><extensions><gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension><gpxtpx:hr>116</gpxtpx:hr

This is one point from my bikeride today. I guess the condes date would be on the same line if I had one :o

I take the gpx file throug TCX converter program and save it as TCX and then upload it to CG.
and ends up with something like this. https://connect.garmin.com/activity/29796824
It changes my gps from oregon 300 to Edge 305..
The max speed is a bug that develeps when i cycle through a tunnel. I think...

Making the CG read the gpx file so it reads hr could be so hard for the l33t people too garmin.
It's a great tool.. only bits that is missing now :D

    yes it's work.

If i record my track and upload it manually, it works :

if i use new activity automatically upload it's not transmit.
  • lucky me the automatic upload works for me. But then without HR...
So theres no point in A. upload

Hope they can fix it soon :o

Oh, automatic upload work for me too, but without HRM and Cadence, i need to store in Oregon the track and upload it manually to get HRM and cadence on GC.
sorry for my english i'm french :)

same here ... manual uploading data does include HRM data, automatic upload doesn't ...
with manual uploading the Current.gpx file you loose the device information in the activity ...

    greetings,

Where did you get the TCX converter program?

Think Garmin will fix this? I'm trying to decide between a Dakota 20 and Edge 705, mainly for cycling, but with the Dakota I could use it for hiking and geocaching and even running.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I don't understand why Garmin doesn't support these features.

I have a Dakota 20 and use it for MTB. If the heart rate and cadans would be automatically exported to Garmin Connect I would buy the heart rate sensor and cadans sensor at once! This is not only for me, but a couple of biker friends think about this the same.

I'm disappointed in Garmin for this. But mainly, I don't understand how they can afford to miss so much sales world wide with this issue !?

I hope they'll fix it in the very near future!

    Kind regards

    Calories Burned?

Manually uploading the gpx file from the Oregon gives me Heart rate data, I get Max rate, profile etc, but even though my weight is recorded in Garmin Connect, the Calories burned field remains blank. I know there have been great discussions about the accuracy etc of such Calorie figures, but given that Garmin Connect has a field for calories, why doesn't it populate this field? Or have I missed something?
