Cycling garmin coach cannot limit workout time, neither lesser days

Wondering if there is a way to limit workout to just 1 hour instead of 2 during week days, and limit 2 days of training as well. I have more time during weekends. But it is minimal of 5 days of workout. I am intrigued about the logic for these apparently adaptive training plans.

  • Well, it looks like garmin adaptive coaching plan is still an incomplete feature as other from Garmin. I am testing it to see if it could replace my trainingroad AI workout planning, but there is still more questions than answers and there is limited documentation.   For example, I am doing the workouts mainly using the TacX desktop app, so I believe that app is not recalculating your FTP as for example doing an exercise using your edge computer.  I can see that the coaching is adapting mainly based on anaerobic, aerobic and endurance predefined targets, and giving you workouts accordingly... Funny thing is that doing a sprint workout supposed to influence the anaerobic scoring, but it is not, so the AI coach is replacing the threshold workout originally set for next day for another sprint workout.  The good of training road was the AI calculation of your FTP so you don't have to do the ftp test, but under this scenario of using tacx instead of the edge, I may need to manually introduce the test to actually measure where I am right now and set the FTP under my profile so my workouts are based on that number.
