Where to find recovery time in Garmin Connect ?

Does anyone know where to find recovery time in Garmin Connect.

I can find it on my Garmin products, but I use several bike computers and would like the data merge.  Garmin is marketing computers to different type of bike activities so why wouldn't Garmin have a centralized calculation of recovery time.  I have a road bike computer and a mountain bike computer and it sucks to dig out my bag, fire up the computer I used last to find the recovery time when I am in Connect often.

Someone mentioned that part of the recovery time on the watches include how much you sleep and heart rate.  If that is true then why put the feature on a computer that is used maybe 10 hours a week then turned off?

  • On the Connect website:

    - left sidebar > Performance Stats > Training Readiness

    On the Connect app:

    - 3 dots (More) > Performance Stats > Training Readiness

    --

Either page will have several tiles, including recovery time.

You can also add Training Readiness as a tile in your home page (for either the website or the app), so that it's only one click/tap to get to the full Training Readiness page. However, the Training Readiness tile does not display recovery time, and as far as I know, there is no way to directly add this information to the Connect home page.

However, for recovery time to be consistent across all devices and to be synced with Connect, my understanding is that your devices have to support Physio TrueUp:

Based on what you said about wanting the data to merge, it sounds like maybe some of your device are too old to support Physio TrueUp?

  • Thank you. Under performance stats i have Training Status and Training Effect. No Trading Readiness.

One computer is latest and greatest EDGE MTB. It has recovery. The other computer is a geezer. EDGE 20. It's barebones. I like keeping the computer with one bike as i basically know how many miles are on the bike.

No sure why i care as i can pretty much tell when my body needs to take it easy. Also doing creatine which speeds up recovery. And unlike many i really like Garmin Connect.

  • In that case I assume:

    - you need a compatible recent-ish Garmin watch to see training readiness (and recovery time) in Connect

    - if you had a compatible watch, your Edge MTB would sync recovery time with Connect (and to other devices with Physio TrueUp, such as your watch), but the Edge 20 would not

    Sorry I couldn't help ya

  • Actually you've been very helpful. Been on the fence about getting a watch just need a little push.
