Manually added activity : how to get my watch to really take those into account in my health data ?

I have to add manually 'aquagym' as it does not appear in any lists of activity. 30 minutes a day. But that 'activity' (which is very real) is not taken into account in any way, as if I didn't do it.

How to get the program to factor in the aquagym daily sessions ?

  • Probably the best thing to do would be to record the activities as Cardio on your watch, then change the activity type in Connect (if applicable / desired). That way, your training stats should be updated for the activity, assuming you wear your watch in the pool and record your heart rate.

However, I'm not sure if there's even any activity type in Connect that's closer to aquagym anyway. What activity type do you use for your manual activities?

You can make this workaround more user-friendly by creating a copy of the Cardio profile and naming it "Aquagym" (or whatever you want). Then all you have to do is change a setting in Connect so that future recorded activities use the name of the activity profile for the name in Connect.

    1) Open https://connect.garmin.com in a browser and log in

    2) Select your profile pic (upper right hand corner) > Account Setting > Display Preferences

    Or open this link: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/displayPreferences

    3) Change Activity Name to "Location & Device Activity Name"

(the default setting is "Workout Name (when available)", which means that the activity *type* is used when there's no workout)

  • Thank you, I hadn't tought about this. It works fine. Great!
