garmin connect not sync'ing

The web based app does not sync with the watch while the mobile app does.  Are you going to fix this?  Are you even aware for the last couple days it's not worked?

  • Garmin Connect Web and the apps are just viewers of the data stored on the Garmin servers. If you don't see the same data in the web as in the app then you are logged in to different accounts.

  • This changed about two days ago.  Up to that point putting the watch in the cradle to sync worked fine.  This has nothing to do with logging into different accounts. Want to know how I know that, because when I sync with the phone app the data shows up on the Garmin Connect website.

    P.S. And yes, we can definitively put to bed the discussion about web based app sync'ing comments.  I'm fully aware that Garmin Express does the sync.  I logged this comment more in the interest of alerting Garmin about the error.  Assuming they ever read any of these. ;)  

  • So, the issue is really that Garmin Express sync is not working for you? Contact Garmin Support and file a support ticket.

  • I can confirm it no longer syncs via USB for both vivosmart 4 or vivosmart 5. Time to phone up the nice folks at Garmin. And BTW, for those who wish to be unhelpful, in 2 weeks it will be my ten year anniversary with garmin products....

  • The error you're receiving is indicative of the upload queue needing to be manually cleared. For more info on that, and steps on how to resolve the error, please visit this Support Center article

  • Nope, didn't fix the problem for me, still the same results as before. No visible folders, claims to have synced but no data. Reports as ARYA 5.40. Syncs however using Android or Express 7.17. I'm going to try an uninstall/re-install of 7.27 to see if that helps. Bit of a pain since I have multiple Garmin devices.

  • And after trying it on my vivosmart 4 as mentioned earlier I tried it on a vivosmart 5, still the same error except it reports it correctly as a vivosmart 5. Not much use if it still doesn't sync. 

  • Had time to investigate further. Uninstalled Express 7.27 with remove data option. Re-installed 7.27, All my devices were removed as expected. Followed procedure to add a new device. My vivosmart 4 was recognized as ARYA 5.40 with the message "This device is not supported by Garmin Express". Repeated the add device procedure again. Vivosmart 4 properly recognized, could see folders, and sync was successfull. Just when I was getting my hopes up that the problem was solved and I could report a solution I did the experiment of disconnecting my USB cable and  reconnecting and repeating the sync. Back to where I was before with something called a ARYA 5.40 that wouldn't sync. Yup 7.27 is broken.
