Comments not possible

Since a few weeks, Garmin Connect is systematically asking me to accept/reject cookies each time I am logging in or loeading a new page, like entering into my last activity.

And, more seriously, I can only add Notes and can't add comments anymore in my activties, with a error message "Demand cannot be treated. Try again later". Knowing that the size of the note is limited to 2000 characters, I used to use the notes to complete my activities' summary.

Do you know if Garmin has removed this option in their last update?

    I don't think so, as:

    - it still works for me (both in the website and the app)

    - I think even Garmin would probably properly remove the comment UI and not just give the user an error message when trying to post a comment, if their intent was to remove commenting

    - I don't think Garmin would remove the comment feature unless their intent was to dismantle the entire "social" aspect of Connect. (To be fair, most ppl don't use Connect's social features since Strava exists)

    With this in mind, I used https://www.lipsum.com/ to create a 4000-character block of text, which I successfully posted as a comment on a Connect activity.

    So you may be running into a bug with Connect that affects you, but I can confirm that Garmin has not removed this feature.

    I didn't know lipsum. But I don't think it will help if limited to 4000 characters. I am writing my run reports and it can be long when you run hours Blush

    You can generate text with up to 100,000 characters on that site.

    The point was to test posting big comments, and I didn't feel like finding / making up / asking chatgpt for text with over 2000 characters.

    But actually speaking of limits and revisiting my previous test, it seems that Connect comments are cut off around 1000 characters, regardless of how much you paste in.

    Ofc, you can post multiple comments, which I'm sure you have been doing.

    Yeah, I'm sure it's a bug, and it's not surprising that you are not the only one facing it.

    As far as I can tell, they have not. Based on your response it seems like maybe you didn't really think that removed the option? Maybe you really just want to know if anyone / everyone else is facing the same problem? Well, I can also tell you that I am not facing the same problem. So at least 1 person in the world is able to post comments in Connect. Based on the fact that Garmin has not noticed this problem (yet) I would guess that most Connect users who post comments are able to do so.
