It's Friday. I'm in week 3 of half marathon plan w/ Greg. I have it's running days as Mon, Tue, (Wed Rest), Thur, Fri and Sat (Long runs w/ local group), (Sun rest)
Today (Friday) I noticed a second easy run in a row on my watch. That seemed odd so I checked my calendar on my phone app and there it was: 15 min of repeats for Sat long run! The long run was missing from Saturday. WTF?! I now know the coach plan created and inserted an arbitrary second easy run for Friday and shifted Friday's normal speed repeats to Saturday. And Saturdays long run pushed out to Monday and so on thru next week... Thursday is now the new rest day ... Again WTF?
Anyway after a bunch of button pushing on my Forerunner 245 I figured out how to just do tomorrows (Saturdays) speed repeats today (Friday) to get going...
Afterwards, I sat down on Garmin Connect (web) and sure enough - it seems to have SHIFTED EVERYTHING to the right one day, now making Mondays long runs and so on... I have not missed any workouts. I've either been at or very close to target paces. The plan still shows my MTWFS(long) configuration selections. But it seems to be ignoring them and doing it's own thing thru next week.
Temporary Fix: For the remaining workouts next week I did go into the calendar and MANUALLY 'rescheduled' each workout one at a time to their correct days that fit my schedule. That gets me thru Friday of next week.
QUESTION: Is it normal behavior to ignore scheduling selections and do this? (saw some threads on these plans getting stuck in loops but my issue is different)
QUESTION: What could I have possibly done to trigger the plan to ignore my scheduling requirements and shift everything to the right? Didn't miss any workouts. I also run the additional optional run times. I'm at or close to target paces - maybe a few seconds slow once or twice. For scheduling reasons I can't just randomly switch around other days for long days or rest days or whatever.
I've manually rescheduled every run showing on the calendar to align with my original schedule. But am I going to have to manually fix it again next week and so on...?
Thanks,
