Separate Weekly totals for Running/biking/swimming/etc

I've requested this before, and I still really don't understand why it can't be done. Why does garmin connect insist on adding the total distance for all activities for the weekly total? This is silly. The only reason I would want to know a combined distance is for a "fun fact."
I've ended up not recording my totals for biking at all in the garmin connect calendar because I don't want it to affect my running totals.
PLEASE update the calendar so that weekly distances can be separated by category.

    Hi,

I agree to 100%. I am training about 50-50 running - cycling and the total distance is completely uninteresting. Especially since the running distance is only a fraction of the total. Comparing running and cycling distance is not meaningful.

    Calendar Totals - more details

I completely agree that the toals on the calendar need some improvements. You might consider allow more option control with this feature.

I'd like to see total calaries burned for the week, as well as total bike, total run, total swim. The ability to show averages in the total column would be amazing. I'd like to see - at glance - whether my average pace in biking is going up or down each week. Whether my running heart rate average is getting better each week, etc, etc, etc.

The people that use Garmin Connect are data junkies, myself included. The ability to see this info quickly and the option to alter info to each data junky's preferences would be amazing.

You guys have an amazing start with this product and Garmin Connect over all. The ability to share the info so quickly and easily is a dramatically effective advertisement for Garmin products. The more you get the data junkies to use your web page solo for analysis the data - the more that they will share it and advertise.

Two someone else's two cents work.

REALLY??? Is this STILL not resolved??? I just moved to Garmin from Polar and am worried that I made a bad choice! I am amazed to see all the issues that are basic and still not resolved by Garmin. I'd been searching for ways of separating the totals by sport in calendar view. As others have said, it is not tremendously helpful to know that you have covered 140 miles this week. Is that one huge running week with a short cross-training bike ride, or is that a long saturday ride??? And the few miles of swimming gets lost altogether. PLEASE, PLEASE add this feature Garmin. I agree with everthing that's been said so far. JSutton has it right. But even a drop-down selection would be useful so we could limit the calendar to show specific sports and their totals.
  • I agree.

Is it possible to create graphs like "Endomondo's - Total Training overview".....

I agree to this also. It does not make any sense to have the total of all sport - we need to be able to see the weekly total separated for each sport.
  • I totally agree too! And/or at least to have possibility to exclude or to separate distances and time for activities with Event Types like "Special Events", "Transportation" or "Geocaching" from weekly totals (and also from totals displayed in Profile!). Now it's comparing apples with apes.

    Same here.

It doesn't make sense that bike, running and swim go together in total distance. It is not that it is not useful, it is worse than that because it spoils my data. Now I have no idea about how to follow my training.

I don't know why Garmin Connect has a "Feedback" button, I already said this months ago and still the same. And I am sure it wouldn't be a complicated feature to add.
  • Is there some reason that the report view doesn't give you what you want? Click Analyze > Reports, then change Progress Summary to Group By Week, then choose a time interval and an activity type.
