Why do I need to login ever and ever again?

https://connect.garmin.com/modern/home seems to be broken?

I need to login ever and ever again with email verification. So, I'm lucky if my login stays active for 2 days but that's rather rare.

Only Garmin seems to have these problems, why is that, when will it be fixed?

  • This isn't happening for me. What OS and browser are you using? Try clearing the cache on your browser.

  • It's newest versions of MacOS and Chrome. Clearing the cache didn't work, unfortunately.

  • Additionally, I now had some problems with the Garmin Express software on Mac. I had to register the device again, it was suddenly lost, just gone. And then, of course, login again …

    Oh, and after the software update on the Garmin watch just now, language switched from German to English. That’s incredible – how can this be so broken!?

    It just doesn't stop, one login after another, again a minute ago.

    I bought an expensive watch and the software isn't working, no support???

    It seems like many users on reddit have the same problem and couldn't find a solution. I will try to give Garmin bad ratings wherever possible …

  • Thanks, I managed to contact Garmin via chat but they cannot solve the problem. According to Garmin, there is no problem at all. Believe it or not, it is actually intentional to require logging in again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and so on.

    They claim that the ECG app on the Forerunner 970 has the legal requirement for 2FA with no permanent login. So, if you don’t have that ECG app, then you’re better off, obviously. This makes no sense at all, Apple uses an ECG app on their watch without any such nonsense.

    Garmin didn’t warn me beforehand about this annoying procedure and the login itself should provide information something like: You were logged out on our website because of the ECG app and need to login with 2FA again. That would’ve been helpful but no statement with the permanent logouts whatsoever and no warning beforehand ...
