I want to export my approximately 90km route to GPX from the web interface and when saving it in GPS, a message appears:

The file is too large for export

Is that really true?

    If you mean exporting an activity in GPX format, then indeed up and then, especially in peak hours, some users reported that the export failed. As a workaround you can save the activity as Course, and then export the Course to GPX. As far as I could see, it worked always. Another possibility is exporting it in the native zipped FIT file format (the default export option), and then converting it with an external tool to GPX.
