Searching in my activities

I would like to suggest a feature that I have not been able to find in Garmin Connect. It would be very useful to have a personal heatmap of all my past activities displayed on the world map within the web application. This would allow me to easily see where I have ridden my bike (or done any other activity) at a glance.

Currently, I only know that I rode “somewhere” in a given area, but it is often difficult or even impossible to find the exact activity later—especially if I don’t remember how I named it. Having an interactive map, where I could click on a route and be taken directly to the activity details, would save a lot of time.

This feature exists in Strava as part of their paid subscription, and I believe it would be a valuable addition to Garmin Connect (web and mobile apps) as well.

Thank you for considering this request.

  • This is a good feature request, but all I can say is: good luck with that.

Garmin isn't even able (or willing) to show you all your *courses* without forcing you to *manually* pan and zoom the map so it includes all of them.

  • I use VeloViewer for this (and other stats). There is a small annual charge and you'd need to feed your Garmin Connect activities into Strava (though the free version of Strava is fine).

  • You can also use the Garmin Explore app. If you sync the watch with the GE app, you can then see all activities on the same map. As an added advantage, once synced, the data is available also offline (unlike with Garmin Connect). And the data is also available online using a browser, at https://explore.garmin.com/Map. You can group activities to collections, and filter the map by date range.

  • Thank you for the hint and alternative solutionThumbsup. But, I would like to keep the data inside one platform and do the stuff with them there - it is easier to control the data and you have less AuthN to remember :)

Anyway, thank you for the reply and for providing a working solution.

  • Thank you. I was aware of this tool, but not aware of the exact feature :). Even better, as this means it is an easier and shorter way to integrate within the Garmin Connect app. BTW, by chance, do you know why they like to keep multiple applications in place (it takes resources, FTE's, etc.)? Maybe as a future business-related stuff Thinking?

Thank you one more time, I really appreciate your answer.

  • Maybe as a future business-related stuff

I'd tell rather for historical reasons. It was originally developed primarily for their GPS handheld devices, where using the Connect app did not make much sense. And in the same time, in that time there were less watch models with maps and navigation, than later, so keeping two smaller separate apps, rather than building a huge and complex one, made more sense.

  • I tried their Garmin Explorer, and it looked fine at first sight, but then this happens: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/sports-fitness/f/forerunner-935/162723/garmin-explore---sync-fail-and-restart that's evokes that they are no longer upgrading or updating this application anymorePensive.

This is even more reasonable to move and upgrade this feature to the Connect application, I think. Their watches and bike computers are really good and popular, but I can not tell anymore this about the applications they provide - platforms like Strava, VeloViewer provide better features, but as I told I would like to keep all the data in one environment, this is why I am creating this proposal to the #garmin company/team.

  • they are no longer upgrading or updating this application anymore

They do. It was last updated on Aug 27, 2025. And it works all right for millions of users. Don't make guesses based on couple of old forum posts - there are always people encountering some issues. If you have a problem, and do not find a solution on the user forum, contact the Support.

I recommend suggesting it to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin, they won't see it here
