JFYI: New interesting functionality in Personal Records!

Not sure when it was implemented, but I noticed it only now, so if you did not see the Personal Records page in the last time, have a look at it. It had a very nice rehaul, and it now shows also the history of your last 10 records for the same distance, not only the last one like previously:

  • Seems those tables aren't fully populated. In some cases I only get a "top" 4 or 5, even though I have more than 10 activities that would qualify - and when unlisted activities would be above some of those actually listed. I'll check again in a few days to see if they are updated at all.

  • In some cases I only get a top 4 or 5, even though I have more than 10 activities that would qualify.

Only PRs count. Just like in the real-world athletics. So if you do a 1km PR of 4:00, then 3:30, then 3:00, and then 3:10, the 3:10 won't be listed, because it was never logged as a PR, although it is the second best performance

  • Ah yes - that makes sense, All the top 10 (or 4) are in chronological order.

  • For some reason my 5k and "longest run" records are ordered randomly, while all the remaining records are ordered chronologically.

  • I see one such case on my 10K list, and when I check the JSON data in browser's DevTools » Network » Preview (enter "includeHistory" into the filter/search box), I see the value prStartTimeGMT is zero, unlike at others, where the time is close to the activityStartDateTimeInGMT, and in the same time the status is equal "ARCHIVED". The prStartTimeGMT is otherwise 0 at the currently active records with the status "ACCEPTED" appearing at the top.

I am not sure, but I suspect it may have to do something with the fact that the concerned records were assigned manually. Unfortunately, I do not remember whether it was really the case at the activity I see in my data.

  • Yup, In my case all the records that are out of order come from manually assigned activities. Kudos for the research.

  • It'd be great to be able to see both. Or set some time bounds around it. Speaking as someone who's getting further and further away from my existing PBs - as it feels like I'm rapidly getting older at the moment - seeing my PBs from 2018 which I'm highly unlikely ever to beat now still being there and none of my recent times  - is dispiriting. It'd be great to see, for example, "All Time" records and "This Year" records.

Not a perfect solution, but you can see this kind of thing if you use runalyze.com, a free website that syncs with your Connect account.

One thing is that Connect will only sync about 5 years of historical data by default. If you want to get more data into runalyze, you'll have to follow some manual steps from one of their support articles
