Traffic on a 1490T

Does there have to be a certain length of route/trip in order for the traffic to work? I live near Seattle, WA.

I know it worked, and pretty damn good, on my trip five hour trip from Oregon. But it hasn't worked for my 7 to 10 mile (one way) trip to work.

Seems to be a traffic bug on the 1490T that kills the signal for no reason. Mine does the same. And no, there is no length of trip. it should work within a minute of plugging it in.

not sure if it uses the same hardware but the 3790T never picks up a signal in N London, I have to get N of the m25 before I get any traffic reports (on M40 and M1) then it is vey flaky disappearing for 30min at a time.
