... Rather than hoping Garmin will respond... Which after several years of posting seems not likely... It would be easier for someone to download the SDK and write a simple adapter that takes the Withings wifi data from the computer and sends it to the watch via the ANT+ USB stick as a Tanita Device streaming the appropriate .fit file format.
Even simpler is a straight file translation from the Withings format to the .fit format that one of the forum members has already written.
It would be nice if Garmin would open up connect or develop it but they haven't and don't so we probably need to start posting up our own hacks... Or paying other companies monthly service fees to use our gadgets.
I'm currently using alternative number 2 with my el cheapo bodyfat scale. I'd love to pick up a tanita bc1500 with the segmental analysis but the price is obscene.
I made a program to connect withings profile. With the program you download measures to .Fit file format. And then you must upload it to garmin connect.
+1 PLEEEEASE support this - the Tanita is pants and by the time you add the separate fugly display module it's redic expensive for less functionality than the Withings - sort your act out Garmin! Your customers want it!
since withings support seems to be too much for Garmin, maybe they could at least allow manual input for %fat, %lean and others? this is really annoying that noone seems to listen and read these feature requests...
