Display (selectable) POIs on Map for nuvi 1490T

REQUEST:
I've been trying to find a way to display POIs (like gas stations and coffee shops) on the map when I drive without success.

ISSUES:
I recently purchased the Garmin nuvi 1490T from Costco for $350 USD (total $382.38) and have had it for three weeks.

I drive in and out of Manhattan frequently and the nuvi 1490T's positioning is off by a whole street block. With every usage, the nuvi 1490T requires more time to calculate routes (the same routes).

Also, the map goes blank intermittently when I drive as if the hardware (RAM, processor, etc...) is inadequate to render the display fast enough.

The nuvi 1490T has also been shutting off by itself forcing me to unplug and replug the power cord and power on.

The iPhone Google Maps Navigation works better than this model. Maybe I should just return the 1490T to Costco because everyone I've spoken to about the nuvi 1490T recommends a different unit. I guess price doesn't equate to quality for the Garmin nuvi 1490T. I never had any of these problem with the Magellan 4250 NA.
