Can anyone help me please, my new Garmin watch arrived and the language on the watch face itself is Spanish. I speak English. I don’t speak Spanish. I can’t connect it to my iPhone because I don’t know how to get into the systems. Because I don’t read the language and I can’t understand the options. Is there anyone that can help if possible? This has been frustrating me for an hour. I wish I knew how to speak Spanish thank you 

  • Looks like you've bought a second hand watch. In such case, I highly recommend resetting it to the factory defaults before attempting to use it, and before adding it to Garmin Connect. Otherwise you risk spoiling your data with those of the previous owner. The watch will then prompt you for the language of your choice.

    Follow the instruction for "unprompted reset" that you can find in the user manual of your watch. You did not write which model you have, but on recent models it usually works in the following way:

    Unprompted Reset

    This reset will clear all settings, user profile, records, activity history, Connect IQ content, and other data.

    It is recommended to read the steps in full below before performing them.

    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      1. You may need to hold LIGHT for up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Hold LIGHT until the watch turns on.
    3. When Descent logo appears, press and hold DOWN, START/STOP, and BACK/LAP.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining buttons.

    The reset is successful if the watch finishes powering up and goes through initial setup. Try the steps again if initial setup does not appear. Following the reset, place the watch outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.
