Sports equipment wear tracking update

Hello.

When will the developers start overhauling the wear monitoring feature? I'll be upfront: I've reported this issue numerous times using the link to the ideas.

Hundreds of people have probably also commented on this. Many settings are missing, and Garmin hasn't done anything about it for seven years. There was a redesign of the Connect app, but not the equipment features. Stryd, Strava, they've all done a lot of work. First, every sport should have the ability to add default equipment.

Currently, you can't add anything except running, cycling, and swimming. What about gym equipment/shoes and fitness training? What about mountaineering, trekking equipment, and mountain hiking? Furthermore, you can only add distance. Gym shoes aren't measured in kilometers, but in other parameters. There's no unit of time or, for example, weight lost during training for such equipment. Furthermore... when training for running, Garmin is primarily geared towards competitive and ambitious people. I need the ability to set default equipment for specific training sessions and races. I'd like to have it, and I'm sure thousands of Garmin users would too, to customize it to specific training sessions and specific equipment. For example, Daily Trainer shoes, Long Run shoes, UpTempo shoes, Marathon Trainer shoes, Race shoes (like a different one for a half marathon, a different one for a 5K or 10K, etc.). Why isn't there? It's the same with cycling and swimming. I have an exercise bike, training goggles, and different ones for races.

Now I constantly have to edit activities, and as a triathlete. I have a lot of training sessions, and I waste time editing them. I want to track equipment wear and tear because it's crucial for me in preparing for races. I need to replace any missing or worn-out parts relatively early. I have the impression that no one is deliberately looking into this, and these posts are ignored. I won't let up, and if necessary, I'll keep writing posts like this. This is a key feature for me as a triathlete.

Regards.
