60CSx screen just fades off

I have a 60CSx and periodically, the screen just fades off. I think the device is still on and I just press the on/off button a couple times and it comes back. Is this a sign that the screen is just giving out? It's only about 15 months old which doesn't seem like much, but I do use it a lot. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and what they've done about it, if anything.

Will the screen fade out if you remove the microSD card?

I don't know. I never tried that as I didn't think there would be any connection. Is that something that's been an issue?

If there is corrupt data on the card, then yes, this can cause it to shut down.

Also please make sure that your firmware is up to date as well.

If it does not turn off without the microSD in the device then you will want to format the card.
Go into Mass Storage Mode (Main Menu->Setup->Interface->USB Mass Storage)

Now plug the device into the computer. It will show up as a new drive that you can now format.

    2 things to note.
    1. If you have a prep-programmed data card, do not format it.
    2. Make sure you are formatting the 60CSx and not another drive.
