MPH stats differ from device to garmin connect

Hi to all,
My etrex vista HCx device reads 17.6 moving avg and 17.5 overall MPH avg, but when I upload to Garmin my Avg changes to 16.7 on my activities... What gives? (This is my first ride uploaded to Garmin connect)
